Karabo started his Internship journey with First Technology Digital in January 2022. He comes from the Belgium Campus and he joined our Data & Analytics team.
The internship experience
Let me first start of by saying, you must start from the beginning. Allow yourself to be taught and be a sponge for information. Learn to listen and all will fall into place. Change is unpredictable. So, it was indeed challenging and made me stretch myself far much further than school has. But having a team that supports you every step of the way is lucrative, which mine is.
The First Digital Culture
The culture, in my opinion, is heavily centered around teamwork, collaboration and talent growth. I noticed that from the first day and it remains the case till this day. This creates an environment that allows interns to not only make mistakes, but to learn and to lean on a fellow teammate when it all ceases to make sense.
What I have learned
I feel like everything I have done this year has been a learning curve, rightfully so. From the hands-on experience I got with working on client’s environments to the Microsoft certificates I have accumulated this far. These include, Azure data engineering skills, SQL Server/Database administration and Power Bi dashboards design and implementation.
