The challenge

The client ran complex logistics and operational workflows across multiple geographies, leaning heavily on manual processes, spreadsheets and disconnected legacy systems. That meant poor visibility of operations, slow decisions and a real risk of operational error. They needed to digitise the key workflows on a single, scalable platform that could serve both web and mobile users in the field, while keeping governance and control across the business.

02

The approach

Using OutSystems, we built a low-code application platform that delivered business-critical applications quickly, aligned to the client’s operational model. We focused on a modular application layer that digitised workflows end to end, covering data capture, approvals and real-time tracking, with role-based access so operational and management users each interacted with the system appropriately. Usability and adoption drove the design: mobile-first capabilities let field users capture and access information in real time, and integration services connected the platform to existing back-end systems so core processes carried on uninterrupted.

03

The outcome

The client moved from fragmented manual processes to a consolidated digital platform that supports operational execution. Visibility improved sharply, with real-time dashboards enabling faster decisions and more proactive issue management, and low-code delivery let new features ship quickly as the business changed. The platform now stands as a strategic enabler for the organisation’s ongoing digital transformation.

Summary & benefits

  • Digitised end-to-end operational workflows, reducing manual processing and risk.
  • Improved visibility through real-time dashboards and reporting.
  • A mobile-enabled workforce capturing and accessing data in real time.
  • A scalable low-code platform ready to deliver future use cases quickly.
